July/30: Fixed the MKTE page for Mavado and added more combos to the MK2/GB characters.

July/21: I finally finished all of the fancy Name logos for the characters that had missing name images. The Ultimate Mortal Kombat page is now open, but there is little information as the game is still a "secret" - despite the fact that it will most likely be a replica of the Arcade version. Some minor text/html errors were fixed and I accidentally deleted the MKTE page for Mavado (whoops).

July/10: I am back once again and apologize for the long dry spell of no updates. In the near future I hope to add more information on Mortal Kombat Unchained and the upcoming DS game - Ultimate Mortal Kombat. My website for Ultimate Mortal Kombat is currently under construction and is a dead link as of right now. I have fixed some very minor text mistakes and also updated the Affiliates page greatly.

November/19: Mortal Kombat Unchained for the PSP was released nationwide last week. The biographies and endings have been added to the MK Unchained page for the exclusive characters (Blaze, Jax, Frost and Kitana). Also to note, at this times it seems that Jax, Frost and Kitana only have their MK Deadly Alliance fatalities, while Blaze has none. I apologize for the lack of updates. College life and work has been taking a toll on me.

October/21: A new picture for Mortal Kombat Unchained has been added to it's section (portraying the new Endurnace mode). Mortal Kombat 3 for GameGear was finally updated with more finishers and special moves that were once unknown to the public. More finishing pictures and a lot of Action Replay codes for MK3/GG were also added.

September/22: Shaun Himmerick (Producer of Mortal Kombat Unchained), recently had an interview with IGN. The important notes in the Interview were the details to the new Endurance Mode, all 30 playable characters are unlocked at the start, and there is additional content found in the Krypt that was not seen in the console versions of MK Deception. The interview can be found Here. Three new screenshots of Mortal Kombat Unchained were also added.

September/12: Mortal Kombat Unchained for the PSP has been added to The Games section and is now accessible for clicking. Keep in mind the site is no where near completion, since the game has yet to be released. The Reviews sections for each of the Portable games have been removed, as they were not too informative or in-depth as I hoped they would have been. The official Mortal Kombat Unchained website has been updated as well.

August/30: Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play for the PSP has been added to The Games section and is now accessible for clicking. Today the offical Mortal Kombat Unchained website has been updated with what seems to be the back box art of the game and Midway has also released a render of Jax from the upcoming game. The box art can be found Here and the Jax render Here. I also fixed up some minor problems throughout the site.

August/28: Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition for the Gameboy Advance has been added to The Games section and is now accessible for clicking.

August/22: The Mortal Kombat Unchained website has officially gone live. The URL to the site is:
Unfortunately all that is up on the site is the logo, but at least this is the start of whats to come.

August/18: Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance for the Gameboy Advance has been added to The Games section and is now accessible for clicking.

August/12: Mortal Kombat Advance for the Gameboy Advance has been added to The Games section and is now accessible for clicking. The Mortal Kombat 3 GameGear Manual has also been uploaded and ready for viewing.

August/6: Over the past couple of weeks I have fixed PMK's minor problems concerning areas where pictures were not showing up and links were leading to wrong pages. MK4 for the GameBoy Color is finished and is now accessible through The Games section, however not every link will work as they are still being worked on.

June/17: PMK turns 7 today! We've made some major updates:

  • More refined site layout
  • Better pictures
  • New page, "Regional Kombat", in the "Miscellaneous" section
  • HandHeld MKT manual scanned
  • GameGear MK3 manual scanned

May/15: At E3, Mortal Kombat fans were lucky enough to take take snap shots of three of the four exclusive characters biographies from Mortal Kombat Unchained, as well as one of their endings.

  • Frost Bio:
"I had made my move to seize control of the Lin Kuei from Sub-Zero. He had let his guard down and I took the Dragon Medallion from him. I could feel its power coursing through me! That is the last thing I remember. I awoke in this tomb, surrounded by frozen corpses. I must still be in Outworld. The medallion is gone. No doubt Sub-Zero took it from me and left me here to die. He will pay dearly."
  • Kitana Bio:
"For thousands of years I have fought skilled warriors, each new one seemingly more advanced than the last. But this... Dragon King... was a more powerful foe than I had ever imagined possible. He resurrected me from death and enslaved my soul. I had no choice but to kill in his name."
  • Blaze Bio:
"For millennia I existed for one purpose... to monitor the strength of the world's kombatants. My creator foresaw a time when warriors would become too powerful and threaten all of existence. I was to sound the call to awaken her sons when the apex was drawing near. Their actions would determine the fate of these superior kombatants and ultimately prevent Armageddon. It seems, however, that one brother has been prematurely revived."
  • Jax Ending:
"The Dragon King has defeates us all, save one Jax. And though I had absorbed the fighting abilities of those who had aided me, I lacked the raw anger that propelled Jax into battle. Brutally pounding Onaga into submission, Jax finally ended the conflict by embedding a Kamidogu in the would-be ruler's head. Where he summoned so much rage from. I cannot say, I only hope that his anger is finally purged."

They were only able to get Jax's because he was the only exclusive MK Unchained character available to the E3 build of the game. Unfortunately they were not able to retrieve Jax's biography. Keep in mind that these could be changed when the final version of the game is released.

May/11: Mortal Kombat Armageddon for PS2/XBox and Mortal Kombat Unchained are currently are at this years E3 show and they look wonderful! Check out Mortal Kombat Online for updates from the show room. The E3 build of MK Unchained only has a few playable characters, Scorpion, Goro, Shao Kahn, Noob-Smoke, Baraka, Sub-Zero, Jax, and Bo Rai Cho, but the graphics look better than expected. The final game will hold a whopping 30 playable characters, in addition to a konquest, chess, and puzzle mode. We also have a video of MK Unchained from E3, which you can download Here by right clicking and saving it. Enjoy!

We would also like to apologize for the lack of updates. Paul and I (Justin) have been tangled up in our own personal lives (school, work, life), but we promise to have the new website layout done over the summer!

March/16: In a recent interview done by Game Informer, GI asked Ed Boon (co-creator of MK) a single question about the upcoming MK Unchained for PSP:

  • GI: I know youíre a fan of the PSP and now you have Unchained coming out. What was it like working with that hardware?
  • Boon: Well Unchained was developed in Santa Monica by a company called Climax. So we didnít develop the game here in Chicago but there were a lot of issues that we wanted to address. We really wanted to keep the framerate very high. So we went in there and helped them optimize their code and the Wi-Fi linking - we really wanted to make sure that was tight. We did have a lot more exposure to the hardware than we normally would have when working with a third party, but the main work was done by Climax.

Feb/24: The first screenshots of Mortal Kombat Deception for the PSP (retitled to "Mortal Kombat Unchained") have been released! See www.mortalkombatonline.com for more info.

Feb/4: Welcome MK Polski to our affiliates (a Polish site).

Feb/2: Welcome MK Bushido to our affiliates.

Jan/14: Two days ago, pictures of the next MK game (titled Mortal Kombat Armageddon) were released in Game Informer magazine. The current release date is October 2006, and will be on "current-gen systems" such as PS2 and Xbox. A PSP port seems likely, but will probably only happen once the console versions are released (like what has happened with MK Deception). See www.mortalkombatonline.com for more info. There have not been many updates to the site recently because we are working on getting a new version of the site finished. We are improving the layout and switching to CSS code (finally). Expect a page on the PSP Midway Arcade Treasures game shortly. An ad on the back of the manual for PSP MK Deception says it will be released "spring 2006". Gamefaqs.com says the release date is "02/24/06" for EU and "04/01/06" for US.

Dec/18: Midway Arcade Treasures is now available for the PSP. See www.mortalkombatonline.com for more info.

Oct/9: We are officially apart of the Mortal Kombat Online network and we could not be any happier. Expect a new web layout this Winter! And please update your links to http://pmk.mortalkombatonline.com

Oct/4: Added a new poll today. Last night mortalkombatonline.com held their Fight Night with the creators of Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks. Below is what was said about the future portable MK projects:

    MK Shaolin Monks:
Will MKSM be ported to other systems such as PSP, GameCube, or the PC? Which of these is the most likely?
Shaun-Himmerick: NO GAMECUBE, NO PC, PSP..? "reily says "details possibly coming soon". No commitments yet. we are analysing possibilities. NO DS
    Adam-Puhl: GBA
    John-Edwards: no Wonderswan

    MK Deception Unchained:
what's going to be different about MKD: Unchained on PSP.
Ed-Boon: It will be more than just MKD. But we can't get into the details at this point
Shaun-Himmerick: There will be additioanl kontent, but we will not annoucnce that yet.

So there you have it from the creators of Mortal Kombat. In short, porting MK Shaolin Monks to the PSP is possible and they're thinking about it. MK Deception Unchained will have additional content, but the information cannot be released to the public just yet. Stay tuned!

Sept/12: According to gamefaqs.com, the upcomming PSP game, Mortal Kombat Deception: Unchained, is set for release November 2005 in Europe, and 02/01/06 in North America. The PSP Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play (which includes the Arcade versions of MK1, II, and 3) is set for November 2005 in Europe, and 11/14/05 in North America. UPDATE: The Europe release dates have been changed. MK Deception Unchained to TBA 2006, and MAT Extended Play to 11/25/05.

June/17: PMK turns 6 today! We've added a new PAGE that talks about the history of the site, from the perspectives of the two guys responsible for it. We've also updated the pages about ourselves (which can be found in the "contributors" section).

May/18: E3 kicked off today where Midway presented their MK games, MK Shaolin Monks, and their PSP conversion of MKD. A teaser trailer can be downloaded at Mortal Kombat Online, which features both Midway Arcade Treasures and Mortal Kombat Deception for PSP. Also, it looks like Shao Kahn and Goro, previously exclusive to the Nintendo Gamecube version of MKD, will be playable in the PSP version as well!

May/15: Looks like the fun won't stop! Just recently, Midway Arcade Treasures was also confirmed to hit the PSP. In this version of MAT, three MK games will make an Appearance (Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, and Mortal Kombat 3). Other games will include: Spy Hunter, Sinistar, Defender, Paperboy, 720, Klax, Joust, Marble Madness, Toobin', Rampage, Gauntlet, Rampart, Wizard of Wor, Xybots, Championship Sprint, Arch Rivals, Cyberball 2072, and Xenophobe. Both the MAT PSP and MKD PSP versions will appear at E3 next week, so stay tuned for further updates on those.

April/18: According to Mortal Kombat Online, there will be another Portable MK Game. Looks like Mortal Kombat Deception will be released to Sony's new hand held system, the PSP, by the end of the year!

February/8: Added a new poll and fixed a lot of all the missing pictures (which was nearly every character's mugshot, and the winning poses and fatality pictures for MKDA/GBA). We would also like to mention that there isn't any word of another portable MK game (for the Nintendo DS and PSP). However, if there is ever any word... expect it to be here on this website as soon as possible!

November/29: Added a new poll and an affiliate. Welcome Mortal Kombat Redencion to the affiliates page!

October/23: Fixed the entire MKTE/GBA section. The fatality, Weapon Fatality, and character pictures now appear for every MKTE character, instead of getting X's. If there are any other pictures on our website that are not showing up, please inform us.

October/19: We're still here! Sorry for not updating for such a long, long time, but we really don't have much to do on this site. Plus I've (Justin) been busy with Mortal Kombat Deception, college, and work. If you would like to become an affiliate with us, we're still up for it! Just e-mail us at portablemk@yahoo.com. For today, I added 2 Double Hit power kombat kodes for MK3/GG thanks to ]{ombat. I also updated my very own page about me and added a new poll! Please note that we removed the MK Deception section, simply because we didn't keep up with it and because it never came out for a portable system.

May/2: Thanks to Gustavo Queipo we were able to correct Sonya's MK1 Leg Throw, and Sub-Zero's Slide and Sonya's Leg Throw from MK3.

April/20: Added a large promotional image to the Game.com MK Trilogy page, and removed the "Game Ranks"/"Game Receptions" page until we think of something better.

April/17: Changed the "Game Ranks" page into the "Game Receptions" page. The difference is that now the page is a compilation of polls that we have given. With all of the relevent polls in one place, it makes it easier to see how people have recieved the games. The polls will also remain on the polls page.

April/7: Added some more stuff to the "Secrets/Codes" section of MK Advance, and added the Sareena render to the MK Tournament Edition page.

April/4: Fixed the GameGear MK1 stage pictures, added a shot of the MK4 Super GB boarder, and added more screenshots to the MK Tournament Edition page.

March/28: Added a new page to the Interesting Stuff page comparing MK Deadly Alliance with MK Tournament Edition; added a brand new section, Printable Guides; improved various pages; and added 2 new polls. And if you have not noticed, we are beginning to add pictures of the cartridges to all of the game pages.

March/19: Added two more pictures to the MK Tournament Edition page: the promotional "poster" and the early version of the box (it says "Deadly Revenge" instead of "Tournament Edition").

March/16: Added more screenshots to the GameGear MK and MKII pages.

March/14: More screenshots were added to the GameBoy MK1, 2, 1&2, and GameGear MK3 pages.

March/10: Added a single game glitch to the front page of MKDA/GBA.

March/6: Moved the Mortal Kombat 6 page out of the GameBoy Advance section to its own section, added more screen shots to the MK3 and MK4 GameBoy pages, and fixed up some of the pages for the handheld games to match the rest of the site.

March/1: Bad news today! The upcomming Mortal Kombat Deception will not be released for the GameBoy Advance according to an article from MortalKombatOnline.com.

Other than that, two more pictures were added to the GameGear MK3 page, and Shao Kahn's pictures in his page for that game have been fixed. We may have a manual scan of MK3 for the GameGear sometime in the near future...

February/28: Updated the Mortal Kombat 6 (now called Mortal Kombat Deception) section with new information.

February/20: Added a bit of information to the Mortal Kombat 6 section and took out some old information.

February/8: Added starting game and credits pictures for both MKDA/GBA and MKTE/GBA.

January/31: Added two new polls today! Poll #30 is asking whats your favorite GBA MK Game. We did a poll like this before, but that was before MK Tournament Edition was out.

January/27: Added A big scanned picture of the front and back cards for MK3/HH and MKB/HH.

December/31: The MK4 GameBoy Color manual scan is complete, just in time for the new year!

December/21: The MK3 GameBoy manual scan is complete!

December/17: Added the "Is MK3 a Hack of MK4" page to the Interesting Stuff page.

December/15: Added pictures of MK2 for the GP32 to the new Unofficial games page. Expect the MK3 and MK4 GameBoy manuals to be done before Christmas (those are the only ones we have left).

December/14: The MKII GameBoy manual scan is complete!

December/05: Added the MK1 GameBoy manual scan. Added a better box picture to the MK1&2 page. Expect the MK2 GameBoy manual scan soon!

November/25: Added a new poll today. Also changed the front box picture for MKTE and added the back box picture as well. MKDA is one year old since November 22!

October/26: Added a new poll today. Also added the 'Change Weapon Color' codes for MKTE. Also, does anyone know how to do the Shang Tsung's Reptile morph for MKTE? E-mail (portablemk@yahoo.com) us if you know!

October/19: The MKTE Game Boy Advance Manual Scan is complete.

October/17: Fixed the link on this page to the Hand Held MK1 manual scan, and put the Game.com link to the menu bar (we accidently forgot to add that).

October/16: The MK 1 Hand Held Manual Scan is complete.

October/12: The MK Advance manual scan is complete!

October/11: The MK Deadly Alliance manual scan is complete! Expect the MK Advance and Tournament Edition ones shortly. And as you have probably noticed, we are in the process of adding affiliate links.

October/10: Improved pictures, new introduction, new page (upcomming/cancelled games), improved menu bar, and Paul has added a page about himself to the contributors page.

October/5: Added the Weapon Moves for the MKTE/GBA characters. Also fixed the links so that new windows shouldn't pop up anymore. Instead the sites you click on should come up next to the menu bar.

September/28: Added screenshots for every character's fatality and weapon fatality for MKTE/GBA. Also added the "Perfect Bonus" secret for MKTE/GBA and MKDA/GBA.

September/21: Justin added his review to the MKTE/GBA section. The character pages for MKTE/GBA now have their stories, endings, and ending pictures. Codebreaker codes and "Play as..." codes have also been added to the MKTE/GBA section.

    September/2: Fixed the poll!

September/1: Completed the Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition stages page and the MK&MK2 GameBoy manual scan!

August/31: Added a new poll and added the Guestbook. The MKTE/GBA Page has been updated, as well as the character pages (but are not close to being done). The MKTE/GBA rom has been uploaded! You can download it at the Roms Page.

August/29: Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition should be in every store now. We need the ROM to complete our MKTE page. Do you know where we could get it? Tell us: portablemk@yahoo.com

August/19: The Quiz and Manual Scan for MK3/Hand Held have been added to the Interesting Stuff page. The "Street" stage has been added to the Mortal Kombat Advance stages page, completeing that page.

August/18: The Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance stages page has been improved with more pictures and better layout. Due to request, Mortal Kombat Advance stages have been added.

August/16: The Roms Page is back up! Manual scans for MK Barcodzz/Hand Held have been added, as well as 15 new screenshots taken from ign.com of the upcoming Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition!

August/15: Completed the GameRanks page, including new pictures of the stats!

August/7: Justin has added his review to the MK1/GG page, the MK2/GG page, and the MKT/GC page.

August/6: Added another picture to the GameGear MK3 page. Changed the link to the image of this site's link picture, so it should work now. Our rom links are currently not working. We are trying to ammend that.

August/2: Paul has added his review to the MK4/GB page. The MK&MKII page is being improved.

July/31: The MKII/GG Manual Scans are complete! The Forum was removed since MK5.org has a much superior one (the "Pocket" forum). We are also working on finally fixing the Affiliates/Links page.

July/29: Added MK1/GG Manual Scans to the Interesting Stuff site, and added another box picture for MKT/R-Zone.

July/21: A lot of stuff has been added (and is being added) to the Interesting Stuff page. Now we have a complete Instruction Manual scan of Game.com MK Trilogy, and MK1-4 and MK Deadly Alliance stage pages done.

July/19: Added the Interesting Stuff page. Only three links on that page are up so far, and even those links are not totally completed yet. The "Comming Soon" part of this page was removed since all of that stuff is now on the "Interesting Stuff" page.

July/7: Updated the Mortal Kombat 3 / R-Zone website with lots of info.

July/3: Added Polls #24 and 25. Updated the Game Ranks page.

June/4: The MK3 GameGear page is now completely done! Enjoy! There's a lot of new pictures for it. We have also just passed the 10,000 hits mark since January 6, 2003. But remember, this site has been around since 1999, so the real number isn't that low :) One more thing: we've removed the items from the "Comming Soon" section since we're now done with them (1. Uploading all of the pictures from the old site onto the new one. 2. Completing the MK3 GameGear page)!

May/26: The MKDA page is back on. Sorry for the inconvenience.

May/26: Happy Memorial Day all! Bad news: The MKDA Page was accidently deleted. The page is still accessable, but still needs to be fixed up. The character pages weren't deleted and are fine. In fact, 3 MKDA/GBA glitches were added to the character pages for Li Mei, Frost, and Jax.

May/22: The new poll is up! We know the last one sucked; but it was needed to complete the game ranks page as soon as possible. Once MK:Tournament Edition and later MK6 are released, we'll redue the polls to include them.

May/17: Added Code Breaker codes for MKDA/GBA. Also updated the MKTE/GBA page with new news from E3 and added a Sareena charater page with her picture and story.

May/10: The first set of screenshots for Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition have been released! Thanks to IGN for the 10 screens and the new info. Be sure to check out the MKTE/Page!

May/4: Thanks to a member at MK5.org, I was able to update my Mortal Kombat Trilogy Giga Fighters page with new info!

April/29: Not a big update, but also one not to miss. Midway reported today that they've sold 2 million copies of Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. Congrats Midway! In other news, the new release date for Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition is set to September 30, 2003!

April/27: Updated all the MKDA/GBA character pages with their ending pictures! Click Here to go to the MKDA/GBA page.

April/17: MK Deadly Revenge for the GBA has now been renamed... again. The new name is MK Tournament Edition. Click HERE to check out the MKTE/GBA website.

April/13: Added poll #22. The Game Ranks page has been updated with the results from poll #21. Once again, the responses to poll #21 after April 11th will not be counted.

April/6: Because we want to increase the accuracy of the polls, we have decided to extend the period of voting time to forty (40) days instead of 33 --this makes the new end date APRIL 11th. This will ensure that more votes are gathered. Also, MK5.org has added a new forum (called "Pocket Kombat Discussion") for the portable games! Because our forum seems dead, we'll probably just link to MK5.org's in the future.

March/12: Looks like the upcoming Mortal Kombat game for the Game Boy Advance now has a new name! The official name is Mortal Kombat: Deadly Revenge! Check out the IGN Article for proof. We have added a new page for the game.

March/9: Well, it appears that this page is fixed! We are trying to find what caused it, so this will not happen again. The MK1 and 2 GameGear pages are completely done, and now on the site. Another page is in the works, titled "Upcoming/Canceled Games".

March/7: What a friday. It turns out that the new Mortal Kombat Advance 2 game is actually going to be a sequel to Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. The company that worked on the GBA version of MKDA, is apparently doing the same thing again which will "feature both old and new characters." Check the entire article out Here.

March/5: A possible new portable MK game was discovered. WWW.gamefaqs.com has a page for "Mortal Kombat Advance 2" with the release date set at "8/26/2003". If more information surfaces about the legitimacy of this game, another page will be added to this site for it.

March/4: Added a new page: Game Ranks. The first poll (which is part of that page) was added March 2nd.

February/20: "Should the next MK game be available for hand held consoles?" Answer the poll at DavesMK.com.

February/15: The MK:DA rom is up! Well, sort of. We have provided two links on the rom page to sites with the rom. And new title pictures for the MK4, MKA, and MK:DA pages are up.

February/7: Added the GameBoy Mortal Kombat 1 & 2 rom! Sorry, but we're still working on getting the MKDA/GBA rom up. Almost all of the improved character mugshot pictures are up, more pictures were added to the MKDA character pages, and new title pictures for the GameBoy MK 1-3 pages have been added.

February/2: Liu Kang's Friendship in MK:Advance was found.

February/1: Another section to this page was added named "What's Comming". As the name implies, this section will keep you informed on what to expect in the near and distant future of this site. All of the GameBoy/Color pages are up and have all of their pictures, with the exception of a few "mug-shots" from the arcade select screens. And all of the MK:Deadly Alliance fatality pictures are up.

January/29: Minor site improvements. The pictures to the GameBoy pages are almost done being uploaded (the other pages' pictures are still not all up). The MK:Deadly Alliance fatality pictures should be up by tonight! We are still trying to find somewhere to host the MK:Deadly Alliance rom. If you know of a place, or can host it, please tell us!

January/16: Corrected the problem with the current poll (#20); so now you guys can vote! If you happen to notice any broken or incorrect links, please e-mail us! Note that the links on the updates prior to January 9th are not all correct, so don't bother using them.

January/14: New poll added. And speaking of polls, in a few days the first of a series of polls will begin, to find people's most favorite and least favorite portable mk game! So that should be interesting. As far as the page updates are comming, the GameBoy MK1, 2, 3, and Deadly Alliance main pages are up, but it's taking time to finish the others. And please remember that the characters' pages are still being put on the new server. Also, another cheat/code was added to the MK Deadly Alliance page.

January/9: Major site changes! The site's undergone massive formatting and presentation improvements, and has switched hosts. NO MORE SITE CRASHES OR ADVERTISEMENTS! But please note that it may take a while to get all of the pages updated. Also, this site is now a joint effort between Justin and Paul. This will ensure that changes and updates occur much more quickly and frequently!
